John's journey as a skilled craftsperson began when he embarked on a furniture making apprenticeship in the early 1980s, honing his expertise over the years. In 2013, he furthered his artistic education, achieving a Bachelor of Arts with Honours, with a specialization in glass, from the Australian National University.

His artistic prowess has not gone unnoticed, as he garnered significant recognition and praise for his creations. In 2016, John proudly presented his debut solo exhibition at the Toyama Museum of Glass in Japan. His exceptional work has also earned a place in the prestigious National Art Glass collection, and he continues to showcase his talent through successful exhibitions across various venues in Australia including 2017 solo exhibition at Sabbia Gallery.
