These artworks delves into the intimate bond between the artisan and their trade tools, with a particular emphasis on those related to measurement. Exploring historical milestones like the establishment of the metric system in 18th-century France, the pieces explore how such events have shaped our world. Combining the artist's expertise in glassmaking and background in furniture and woodworking, these works masterfully portrays the material essence of the creative process, juxtaposing the sleek, precise black surface of the glass with the organic, earthy qualities of the wooden 'workbench'. The calliper and brass rode, reflecting the exactitude of the glass form, symbolise the skill and precision required in the making process. Through this art, the pieces seeks to convey not only the intricacies of craftsmanship but also the quiet repose and anticipation of an idle tool, awaiting its purpose.

Immersed in the marvels of invention, discovery, and history, these pieces encapsulate the essence of the printing revolution, skillfully portraying the elegance of the cylindrical printing mechanism and unveiling the perpetually flowing currents of embedded history. As I delve into this work, it conjures nostalgic memories of my youth, hand in hand with my father, stepping into a vast room permeated by the intoxicating aroma of ink, with massive rolls of paper and the rhythmic symphony of 15 Linotype machines clattering and chattering away.

Represents an ongoing artistic journey expressed through a series of sculptures dedicated to exploring the history of measurement. This artistic exploration delves into the measurement of system efficiency, levels of chaos and disorder, and the evaluation of unavailable energy. Measurement plays a significant role in my identity, causing an internal struggle between the ideals of progression, perfection, and harmony.

The artwork takes the form of an unassuming circle, drawing inspiration from the ancient concept of the golden mean to seek and establish a point of balance. It evokes a sense of delicate movement and gesture, offering poise amid uncertainty and the unknown.

Originally crafted in hot glass using traditional Venetian cane glass techniques and inspired by textile gestures of line marking, the expansion of this creative process with innovative large-scale specialised printing technology to unlock new possibilities for upsizing sculptures.

In this series the works explore the captivating beauty of sculptural and architectural concealed within construction techniques, the I-beam veiled from plain sight between our everyday walls. The intricate complexities and repetitive patterns showcased in the art captivate the viewer, directing their gaze to the awe-inspiring marvels of structural entities that serve seemingly simple yet essential purposes.

Between One Place and Another 2016

Is infused with a sense of wonder, innovation, discovery, and historical significance. By focusing on the realm of transportation, this artwork pays homage to Canberra's first railway line, a pivotal infrastructure project that played a crucial role in the city's early development. Serving as a lifeline, it facilitated the supply of coal for Canberra's inaugural Powerhouse station, now known as the Canberra Glassworks. Additionally, the railway brought essential construction materials for both public and private buildings, shaping the city's landscape.

Rooted in historical mechanical allusions, this piece explores reflections of people's endurance across vast distances, the allure of uncharted landscapes, and the potential for modernisation in societies past, present, and future. Extracting the simplicity of the cylindrical wheel mechanism, the artwork unveils the perpetual motion of embedded history, artfully placed along fading rail lines to conjure an illusion of time and distance, enticing the viewer into a world where the presence of railways fades away.
